Dear All

I am running a desktop and a laptop both using Windows 7 ultimate. Laptop connects successfully to desktop via remote desktop connection but receive the following error message when attempting to connect remotely from desktop to laptop:

'The Local Security Authority cannot be contacted'

Grateful for help and suggestions to resolve.

best regards

Hello LordGlencairn,

Welcome to Seven Forums.

Have you got one of the Allow Remote Desktop options checked on the remote tab of advanced system settings.

Hi Gary

Many thanks.

Yes, I've done all the obvious things, believe this to be something with Windows security features though. I am prompted for a login password on the remote PC and then get the error message. Grateful for any further thoughts?

Kind regards
Julian.

I have the same issue between my desktop and laptop. My laptop will connect to the desktop but the desktop will not connect to the laptop. I get the login screen then the error message. Anyone come up with a solution?

Don;t know if this will work for you, but I was having the same problem because I did not have a password set. When I set a password and enter he username and password it worked for me.
