Solved Seemingly random BSOD - PFN list corrupt

Seeing your reply, I did a deeper search for an appropriate driver based in the PnP DevID:
Code:
USB\VID_0CF3&PID_9271\12345
And got this one ..... Drivers for Atheros AR9271 and Windows 7

View attachment 312106

There is no driver update available to that device.

You have to change the USB network adapter in this situation.

Qualcomm Atheros.

It is always better to use the device from a vendor who develops the driver. TP Link uses the driver from Atheros.

I have just had another blue screen, just browsing, PFN list corrupt again, upon restarting windows told me my wireless adapters drivers had not been installed, so i uplugged it, and plugged it back in,and it began working again. I have uploaded the dump via DM log collector. I hadnt had any issues since i last posted!

Edit: I have been using a netgear adapter, instead of TP Link. Again netgear says my drivers are up to date, but in the attached picture, it says 2011, which seems a bit.. old

Latest driver available with Netgear is Software Version 2.2.0.3 . Which is ......

Why they dont have updates, the same story. They marketed the dongle, but the driver is originally developed by Broadcom.

Could there be something else causing these drivers to play up? I'm thinking of buying some powerline adapters, and using ethernet. What would your opinion be? Or could you link me to an adapter that isnt awful (I tried looking for some adapters made by the people you previously suggested, but seemed to all end up being 3rd party, i was probably looking in the wrong places!)

Again thank you for looking into this, its driving me nuts!

Apparently there is no any program installed that may cause those malfunction to network.

You may do one thing, as the latest BSOD was a stop 0x4E. Test your RAM modules for possible errors. Because failing RAM may cause any error, and stop 0x4E is very common for failing RAM.
How to Test and Diagnose RAM Issues with Memtest86+
Run memtest for at least 8 passes, preferably overnight.

If it start showing errors/red lines, stop testing. A single error is enough to determine that something is going bad there.

Alright, i will run memtest tonight, seeing as my partner had been using the same OS / adapter as me and had no issue, and ive had 2 separate adapters (albiet with old drivers) I think you may be right about it being the ram, I have contacted the seller and let them know that something may be up with it. Thanks for all your help guys!

Im about to reach 7 passes with no error. Should I let it run for a couple more passes? Or do I need to swap the sticks around and test the unused slots?

Edit: 10 passes 0 errors. Running for 11 hours 30 mins.

Not unexpected .... and you know the next step.

Searching elsewhere will not be very worthy ATM, keeping the failing driver present.

Edit: Im testing some powerline ethernet connectors, its working fine, so i have that to fall back on if a solution cannot be found

Get a network adapter having proper opportunity to update the driver.
