Seemingly Random BSODs

I have just built this computer and now i'm getting random BSODs. These are all fresh components except of a recycled video card. I've installed all motherboard drivers except for jmicron jmb36x driver which causes problems with my CD-Drive.

Anyways these BSODs happen about 3 times a week, mostly when I'm not around.

One thing to note is i’m running my ram at 1333mhz freq rather than 1600mhz as this was the auto-setting for my AMD Phenom II 965, the timings for this speed are looser than the timings for 1600mhz according to SPD which I found odd.

Also on the Ripjaw's packaging it says "designed for core i5 or i7 CPUs" most people don't seem to have any problems running them with AMD however.

Here’s all I could find out about my error:

Hi there

Are you using any virtual Cd program such as Daemon tool or Alcohol 120%, sptd.sys, which belong to many virtual cd program, caused one of the BSODs
Code:
BugCheck A, {fffff88003b56000, 2, 1, fffff80003807e8d}

I'm looking for the sptd.sys removable tool that you can use to remove sptd.sys file after removing those virtual cd program, will post it in just a minute

Just BSODed again, this time was I playing a game and the screen went crazy, then blue screen showed up with irql_not_less_or_equal message. Which is apparently due to a bad driver of some sort (google), however I installed all my drivers and programs on day one, so it makes it hard to figure out whats going wrong.

I wonder if this is a hardware problem, I don't think it is my graphics card as this was working fine in my last computer (unless it was damaged while moving).

Also with regard to the DVB-T reciever windows tells me my driver is up to date. Minidump included.

My Gpu reaches temps of up to 65 degrees while under load, I think this is normal though.

Hope somebody can clear up the confusion.

Hi there
sptd.sys deamon tool issue now gone away-->congratulation
The bugcheck of the minidump file above indicate a system file, which is usbport.sys. Are you playing counter-strike (half-life), how do you play it? I mean are you playing it on usb?

I was indeed playing counterstrike, this was off harddrive however, the only usb connections active would have been bluetooth adapter, TV tuner, keyboard and mouse. Will run the disk check ASAP.

Disk check found no integrity violations. Installed the following hotfix:

The computer stops responding when an USB device resumes from the USB Selective Suspend state in Windows 7 or in Windows Server 2008 R2.

I also BSODed while restarting my computer a while ago; minidump attached.

Thanks for the help so far ttran.

Hmm, no I didn't unplug anything, I also have a program called Allwaysync which auto syncs my flash drive (which wasn't connected at the time) and is set to syncronise everytime the flash drive is connected. I'm quite confused.

I'm not sure about this, but would you be willing to un-install that "syncs frash drive" just for testing. The dump file not always true 100%, therefore within my ability, I can't give you more exact information. Also, it never hurt to try and you can always re-install it if it's not the problem

I did ask for help from great experts in this forum, will keep you in touch

Uninstalled the flash drive syncer, however it was not the cause as I have just bluescreened again playing Counter-strike. Minidump attached. Also is there any way to rule out hardware failure or are these stop errors software related?

Thanks again for all the help.

Hi AlBeshweegee
The minidump file that you just posted gave me same result. I don't think it's hardware problem. The bugcheck indicated usbport.sys, which is system file. I guess that the usb driver usbport.sys is conflicting, damaged, or that something is connected to the usbport is not happy
That driver is the default window driver for usbport. I would suggest to reload all the usb driver for usb devices
To do that: in the device manager (computer-->manage-->device manager), remove the listing in usb section (right click-->uninstall), and then restart your machine

I hope the problem will go away

here is the bugcheck:

There seem to be 18 USB devices in the USB section, should i uninstall them all? There was a NEC USB3 controller driver that I installed with the motherboard CD could that be causing the problem?

Devices hooked up:
TVgo DVB-T TV tuner,
Bluetooth adapter,
USB Keyboard,
Logitech M518 mouse,
Acer speakers.

Go to your motherboard manufacturers site and update it just in case.
