Hi all..

I have a problem thats been going on multiple months now, my computer will seemingly shut down at random, no log out screen or anything just BOOM powers off when running on battery OR plugged in, im running windows 7 ultimate 32 bit, and when the computer reboots or i push the power button again it boots up and 9 times out of 10 boots into a bsod, im able to do a system restore most times to fix it, hence how im typing this now, but im not sure what would be causing it nor how to fix it, i dunno what all info you need to help but ask and i shall post please help!!!

I think it's a problem with the audio driver. Do you have conexant? Please update this. Also atheros wireless land. Broadcom netextreme ii. Unintall AVG just for testing purposes. That should be good for starters.

uninstalled avg and it seemed to work a little, but while playing ddo earlier today it again randomly shut off, would it have anything to do with the computer getting really hot on a normal basis? it seems to heat up lots, as for the audio drivers i dont know what conexant is, but my audio drivers are all up to date

Do you have Atheros and/or Broadcom for network? I'd like those drivers updated.

AND... you problem certainly could be related to a heat issue. Make sure you are using your notebook on a hard surface where air can get to it, and not on a bed, etc. Check all vents. Is you fan blowing? Do this happen after a period of time being on? Can you monitor your temp?

i have atheros and there weren't any updates avalable, i keep my computer propped up and i can hear the fan blowing fine, im in an air conditioned room ive blown the dust out of it already, it does happen after a period of time being on hence my questioning the heat issue thing, as for the temp monitoring, i'm not sure if there is a way to monitor it other then by saying yep... hot lol i did note it seems to do it when im playing games on it more often then not, tho its not one specific game

after further study it only seems to happen when i play Dungeons and Dragons online, and it seemed to stop the BSOD after i uninstalled AVG however it still turns the computer off randomly, w/o any warning, one sec its on next its off
