Seems to stall at 1%

Just an update, everything was working fine until I got up this morning and the stupid laptop won't even boot AGAIN. lol!!! I think I am just going to tell that lady to get a new computer. It's doing the blank screen with blinking cursor. It won't even let me boot with the CD too again as well.

I would love to get this fixed and have things on record here for other people in the future, so I will try and mess around some more before I totally give up.

You may have hardware problems. If it won't start, burn to CD memtest86 and the HD maker's diagnostics (Seatools, WD Lifeguard, etc. - GWScan works on most) and run their full scans. View attachment 45421

Try tapping F8 at bootup then Last Known Good Config, or Safe Mode to troubleshoot in Event Viewer.

Try booting from the XP CD by tapping the key given for Boot Menu on first bootup screen. Then skip the first "R" for Repair prompt, let it discover the installation, highlight it and click that "R" for Repair Install.

Failing that, burn to CD DBAN and nuke the HD to get the cleanest possible slate. Attempt Win7 install. If not, reinstall XP and try to install Win7 from it.

Try copying the DVD using ImgBurn. Next try copying the files from DVD to XP, run Setup.
