Selecting theme switches to classic.

I'm having a major issue when I select a custom theme I downloaded from deviantART, the theme switches to classic for some odd reason. I honestly have no clue because I don't have any 3rd party applications that alter my desktop in any way. So I had restored my OS, and yet theming still switches it back to classic. So, any ideas of why my computer is doing this?
