Hi there all. Newbie here. I have a strange problem I can't get to the bottom of. I have replaced my father's wired modem (he's with PostOffice.com in the UK) with a Belkin Surf+ (F7D2301uk) router running firmware version 1.00.16. When he tries to access the network from his Tosh C660 Win 7 Home Premium, 64bit laptop the network connection between the laptop & router disconnects after a minute or so. The only way to reestablish a connection is to Disconnect and Connect again in the Wireless Network section of Networking panel. But here's the weird bit. My own Mac Book keeps connected fine without any problems as does my Sony Ericsson X10 phone.

I'm stumped so any help on the matter would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
MC

Welcome to SF,

Please try these resommendations:

Are you using any 3rd party utility manager to wireless connect? If you do, you have to disable the WLAN Auto Config for Vista/7 from Control Panel's Services. Click on Start and type services.exe, press enter locate WLAN Auto Config and Disable. Otherwise, if no wireless utility is installed, WLAN Auto config needs to be enabled.

Make sure that DHCP and Obtain DNS server address automatically is enabled from both LAN and Wireless connection. Here's How.

Disable the problematic Wireless Network Adapter's power saving mode from Device Manager, locate the Network Adapter=> Properties=> Power Management Tab, in here you may disable any Power Save mode options by unchecking them off.
