Self restart when installing windows right on uncompressing files 0%

Iv had the exact same problem

So had a friend hit me up for a custom computer with a budget of $2500
I ordered all the parts through PCcase and are as follows

Coolmaster cm690 usb3 case
Asus m5a99x evo mb
Amd fx-8150
G.Skill ripjaws f3-1600c9d-16gxm ddr3 (2*8gb)
Ocz vertex 3 240gb ssd
Corsair hydro h80 CPU cooler
Gigabyte GeForce gtx 670 oc 2gb
Antec HCG 900w psu
LG ch12ls28 odd
Windows 7 pro (ledgit)

Long story short, everything is detected with in the bios but the boot device LED stays solid on, I've booted it from a Windows 7 DVD then THE COMPUTER RESTARTS?!? It's only restarted after I've booted from the DVD, sometimes when it's at the language part but always does it when its at the install part right at uncompressing files at 0%
Now I've but about 6 rigs over the years without a problem and it's really getting to me. I've tried most sata settings (IDE & AHCI), different hdds, different sata cables & ports, cleared the CMOS(removed mains power, removed the CMOS battery, moved jumper waited 5min, held down power button, waited 5min, replaced battery, moved jumper back, replace mains power) the mb memOK function gives the RAM the all clear as well as the windows memcheck after 5 passes, everything was seated with a wrist strap, I've checked the ssd with sata to USB interface and my laptop gives it the all clear (oh yeh I chech with a diff HDD) and the mb has the latest firmware, USB flashed.
This is not my computer, its for a friend, so anything would be great, my friend understands and is being great about the situation, custom builds can have problems but they can be fixed.
Again any help would be great!!!

1. disconnect as much as possible.
2. listen for any beeps from the mobo
3. download the manual and all documentation available for the mobo

If all is to no avail, exchange the mobo.

Post is all good with 1 beep but still boot device LED on, I keep reading in other forums about crap sata controllers in asus MBs, the latter could be the case.... Not cool
The manual for the MB is atm my bible

I'll repost when I try the 1 stick at a time in each dimm slot but it's time for bed soooo.

sounds good. Be sure that bios, chipset, and drivers are all the latest by going to the asus website.

Sorry I don't understand, I flashed the latest bios, how do you update drivers without an OS?

Where did you get the DVD? Did you burn it yourself? If so burn another at 4x speed using ImgBurn. Write the latest installer ISO to flash stick using Universal USB Installer with Win7 in dropdown, boot under USB, REmovable or HD's.

I do have a legit DVD of win7
Tomorrow I'll
Test the psu with my tester
Down a new firmware for the MB but go 1 data back, reflash it
Call my supplier and see what they say
Play shuffle with the ram and...
Seen what happens

I don't really think reseating the CPU or burning a fresh iso of win7 (slow speed) will get me any where. From your profile stats what do you say Tex?

I say, let me know if the mobo is functioning correctly after the bios update.

Mobo needs to cooperate.

If mobo is ok, then the answers to Greg's question will be needed. At least as to where you got the Win 7.
If you downloaded an iso, then you can put the iso directly onto a usb stick without ever burning a DVD.

It's a proper win7 DVD with a fresh key, I brought it up as in, that won't get me anywhere... Or it could rule out the ODD. hahaha troubleshooting

A proper dvd is a dime a dozen. A proper 25 character product key is something else and is what one pays for.

You reply implied you burned the DVD from an ISO. If you did this I only wanted you to burn another or write to flash stick using a tool known to always work. If you bought the DVD and it is clean then installer can be eliminated.

Ok so I got a sabertooth 990fx mobo in and guess what? It still does it!

Gust to clear things up, I have a solid boot led when in bios, when installing windows computer restarts(know at random points), Win7 DVD is a factory copy with a key, tried breadbording( setup mobo on retail box ), ran memtest off windows DVD, 15 passes all clear, I've updated the bios.

Some extra details, on 1 instance I got a bsod, when trying to install OS(mobo set on box) it had not done this in the case.
I noticed that the mobo has set the ram to 1333 when it's rated to 1600,
I've also tested the psu on a antec psu tester with all reading in the green

Know the ram is not on the compatibility list and it is rather new so I gets gathered it was not tested yet and bought it anyway.
If any other details could help please ask, I've built before but not for a few years, I feel like its a really stupid thing that I've done, and it's crushing me

Oh note.......

When testing the psu I realized that I had only hooked up 1, 4 pin CPU power supply connection because I thought the other would not fit but it does, I'm at work so can't test but could this impact on system stability or be the cause of problem?

If you want my help then you will answer the questions I've tried to ask you about the installer, since it is the first thing we look at with the problems you have.

I didn't ask you if it is legitimate. I asked you if you burned it yourself and the source of the ISO. I also want to know how you plant to activate it. Answer the question so we can move on.

We have a 100% installation rate in countless thousands of cases where there is cooperation. I am not messing with your nonsense any longer unless you answer the questions I have asked now.

I understand Karl, I don't expect u to.
I understand this could be the problem, but had good reason for this ram,the intended use of this rig.
Ok so I'm not 100% on this, I'm no pro at all, not even close, but my understanding of ram compatibility is that the mobo/ram manufacturer try a few mobo/ram and test but cannot test all configs so it's just a short list and other ram my be compatible.
Please shot my down if I'm wrong.
And with memOK and memtest all smiling back at me.....? I will order another ram kit but what comparability list should I use the mobo or the ram?
