Semi frequent BSOD for HP dv6190us, doesn't seem to have cause...

I used to get BSODs maybe once or twice a month, now they're starting to become more frequent....I think it's related to the graphics driver. I've tried HP drivers and they don't work well/aren't updated, so I use the Leshcat drivers for the 6770M. Thanks for the help!

Hi

Most of the latest BSOD are caused by NDIS.sys... which is more of a network drivers error... Try updating your wired and wireless drivers from the Manufacturers site.....

Still having issues.

So I installed the wireless drivers from HP and figured everything was all good. But the other day, as I was playing a game, the computer froze up (stuttering on the sound a bit), but didn't BSOD. So I hard reset the computer and booted up again. It booted fine, I logged in, and everything seemed normal. So I closed the laptop to put it into stand by. Came back to find that the light for the laptop was still on, so I opened it up and was greeted by a BSOD, just my luck. Sometimes it does this, where I try to put it in stand by and instead it blue screens. Logs and everything attached.

Sorry for the double post. The computer randomly BSODed again, mentioning bcmw1664.sys in the error code. Rebooted the computer, and in the "Starting Windows..." phase the computer blue screened again, this time with a BSOD that only filled half the screen with text. I have no idea what's going on...

bcmw1664.sys is a problematic driver ...... see this .

Best as of now..go to safemode and disable the wireless drivers.

In the meantime... the link above does have the 5.6 version of the driver..... but i will let you know if a newer one is there

Thanks for the reply. What do you mean by disable the wireless drivers? Should I go into safe mode with or without networking? And the from there I just go to device manager to disable them right?

Go to the plain safemode

and then device manager and disable the wireless under Network devices....

Let me if i can find the latest drivers for it so you can use it . in the meantime let me know if BSOD's again
