If you are using a web-based e‑mail service for example gmail then what do you need to do to get the send option to work in applications like the snippet tool?

Without Outlook or Windows Mail, I don't think it's possible.

Your best option in this case is to save the snip locally and add it as an attachment in your web-based email.

Alternatively, it is a simple process to set up pop mail for gmail in Outlook and Windows Mail.

I use Windows Live Mail and find that it works very well with Windows 7
