Separate Partitions for Windows and Data Files ?

Well I'll be reinstalling Windows and I'm thinking for the first time ever, for a change, when I install Windows I'll partition my 160GB HDD in two, I was thinking perhaps 80GB for my DATA (Pictures, Music, Video etc) and the rest for Windows and programs.

I wouldn't mind your opinion, what is your setup like ?

Similar to what you are saying. 80GB for the OS and programs and the rest for storage. Keeping personal files off the OS partition can save some headaches if you have to reinstall the OS for some reason. I've also moved all my personal folders to the second partition. I'm set up with a 60GB partition for Windows and programs, and the rest for data. It makes for quicker OS backups than having to back up the entire hard drive. So I think it would be a good plan for you.

As noob suggests, making the OS drive smaller is definately an option, depending on how many programs your going to install. I have a lot of programs and also a 500GB drive so leaving a bit extra is no big deal.

I always separate out my Windows (C drive) from the data files and internet downloads that I want to keep. This way, I can more quickly image my C drive to my D drive and restore my C drive in the case of a problem without losing anything on D or having to resort to using my backups.
