Serious issues with my Desktop

Hey Sevenforums,

Today I was playing my game (Runescape) which I play everyday. But today some serious issues with the game began, and after that with my computer. So, there's a chatbox in game, if you press enter, you get a list of quick messages. That chatbox began flashing and the game would freeze, then I closed it.. And only a few seconds later, it began opening the game thousands of times, I could barely move my cursor because of the high amount of stress on the PC. I couldn't shut it down, so I pressed the restart button on my cabinet.

I boot up my PC, and waited a few seconds, I tried opening TeamSpeak (communication program) and then it did the same - opened it many times.

I decided to do a full system restore, but when I put in my CD, I'm not able to boot it up.. I had to do it manually in windows by going in the recovery settings. When I finally got there, would neither my mouse or keyboard work..

Also mentioning that my microphone stopped working. I have not downloaded a single program in many weeks, so why this is happening is very strange.

System specs:

Windows 7 Home Premium
Intel i7-4790K
nVIdia GeForce GTX 970
16GB RAM
250GB Samsung EVO 840
SeaGate 1TB

Please list all your spec's especially the PSU. Also what does the inside look like when you opened it especially the CPU fan? Is it stock or after market, also need the mobo info and ram (are they a matched set).....stuff like that can really help.

I can post a picture of my system specs tomorrow morning. Will also get some help from a family member, hopefully he can manage to do a system restore.

The PSU is a EVGA SuperNova 750W G2 (Full modular). I do not use the stock fan, I'm using a Corsair H100i.

^What do you mean? The inside of my computer or the box of the processor?

Motherboard: Asus ROG Maximus Vii Hero
RAM: HyperX 16GB @ 1886MHz - is all I know for now..

I followed your restore guide, and went into the BIOS and changed. Now I managed to use my keyboard and mouse in the restore menu. It is restoring now as I am writing this, hopefully I won't encounter any problems.. If so, then I will be sure to notify here.

I have some questions;

1. I had overclocked my CPU, will it reset to normal clock speed?

2. Since the day my father built my computer, there has been problems with the Microphone jack. We had to boost the microphone volume with 30.0 DB. And now it's not working. Hopefully it will after the system restore.

3.If there was a serious virus or some sort of other spyware - will it be completely erased from my system?

4. Will I have to update my BIOS again? Or does it stay updated?

Thank you for the help again, both of you. I will update this thread after restore is complete (hopefully).

Your bios will stay updated, that has nothing to do with your restore.

If you OC`d you should set your bios back to defaults, then make any changes you want then save and exit.

Any viruse should be, I repeat should be gone, but you should be running MSE and MBAM and get rid of whatever you`re using now.

You did a great job informing us of your specs, now if you could please just add them to the bottom left corner so we don`t have to ask, fill it out as much as possible.

You have some great parts and you should not be having issues with your PC.

My point is to identify if heat or other electrical issues could be wreaking havoc. As mentioned above you have good solid components but still always good to start with the obvious first. Are you over clocking, are components over heating, did you down load updates recently, have you deep scanned for malware and anti-virus.

Hey there again. I restored my computer now and updated/installed all drivers manually.

When choosing boot options, my SSD is not listed. It is only listed down below where all the drivers are displayed. If I click on it, then I get a error message saying BOOTMRG is missing. I can only choose to boot from CD-writer or my normal HDD.

So you did a clean install or a repair install? Are you saying that you can't move the SSD up to 1st or 2nd in the boot order next to the optical drive?
