I'm studying for the 70-642 certification and encountered this issue as I was practicing with the exercises. I have installed server 2008 Enterprise edition on two machines----one machine is designated to function as a domain controller and a DNS server. I'm still in the early stages of my practice on the exercises and encountered this issue.
On the domain controller, I have created the GlobalNames Zone and I'm trying to enable it. I received an Unknown Command message after I typed the command below as the administrator at the command prompt.
>dnscmd servername /config/enableglobalnamessupport 1
When I searched, I could not find the switch option for the command "enableglobalnamessupport 1". Please let me know why this switch "enableglobalnamessupport 1" is not avaialble at the command prompt. Is there any other settings that I have to configure at the domain controller to have this available?
I hope that you'll find a little time to give me an insight about this. Hearing from you is very much appreciated.
Thank you.
