I installed SP 1 for Windows 7 Home Edition (which I thought was already in) and it said it failed to install. I turned off my computer and it was configuring the SP. So my question is, what happened exactly? It gave the error code of 643 I think it was. It seems to be working (except for the fact that when it rebooted it was really slow at first and laggy, but now it's fine. I don't trust that it worked correctly. Don't want my computer not booting again and doing a new install after JUST installing this OS from my old OS Vista Home Basic.

My computer is a Dell Optiplex GX270 (which is a workstation computer) that can run simple games and sometimes graphic 3D games like Middle Earth. It isn't anything special as you can see with the info it's very out of date and there's nothing I can do about it. I'm not rich. I went through the system and uninstall unnessary bloatware for XP and now it runs like it's on steroids!
I just did a complete re-install of Windows 7 Home Edition myself and when I installed SP1 it created a system restore point before the installation of SP1 started. I assume your copy of Windows 7 did the same thing so if you are concerned about SP1 not installing correctly, you could check to see if you have a restore point you could use.

Guess I could give that a try.
