Get following errors "Service registration is missing or corrupt" (today first time i get this error)
Update error 0x80070057(2016-03-08-T-11_52_25)

I received that exactly same error message when I reinstalled the OEM HP copy of windows 7
on the same PC (needed to replace a failed HDD) I was using the FACTORY OEM Windows 7 discs which was exactly the same copy of Windows 7 that came with the PC when I bought it new in 2010.

After receiving that error I reinstalled again and no problem.

Honestly I believe this is MS making life difficult for Windows 7 users hoping that they will opt for
switching to 10.

I've personally seen BOTH PCs I have running 7 (non networked and both are OEM models)
after searching when downloading after any update is about 70% the MS servers will literally
SHUT DOWN (red internet light) I can repeat this too. If I update ANYTHING else like my Opera browser, Adobe Flash, ect....all those downloads go quickly and smoothly and their servers do NOT shut off.
Coincidence? I think not.

You surly have a counterfeit installation of Windows 7.

Your motherboard is a retail Gigabyte P55-ud3 with this for activation.

It run perfectly for 5 years...
never had problems. I did not use the PC for 1 year and now i'm running into this problems...
svchost using 2 gb of ram and updates ultraslow (24 hours for 1 update -> succeded)

Gigabytes motherboards DO NOT have slic tables, so the only way to get one is to use an exploit.
It more than likely ran perfectly well until 20 jan this year when i believe you installed SP1, although i might be wrong.
But for certain when the last WAT update was installed on the same date, thats when MS caught the exploit.

Your install is non-genuine.

Fixed the problem installing KB3075851, KB3035583 and KB3068708 manually.
Windows is Updating again.
