Hardware:
Logitech MX Revolution Mouse with Setpoint 4.8 and uberoptions

Problem:
SetPoint will not allow keyboard mappings inside games unless it is run as ADMIN in Vista and Windows 7.
You have to set SetPoint.exe up, under properties, to run as as admin but doing so disables its auto start up capability as windows UAC will not allow a program to run with ADMIN permissions on windows startup.

Solution:
I got from these three links listed below.
To sum it up, under properties set SetPoint to run as Admin, then move it out of the startup menu, into another location. Then go into windows and create a scheduled task to RUN setpoint when you (the admin user) logs on (start windows). the outcome is when you boot your PC, Setpoint will run as admin, thereby allowing it to both auto start and allow setpoint to map the mouse buttons for each application you're in as it was designed to do. This procedure would also be necessary for logitech keyboards too i suppose, anything depending on setpoint.

I actually found this solution in the Vista forum buy BigTex79, hats off to him, i just wanted to post it for help. here are the links i used...

Wow, Thanks for that (+1 Rep point). I was having problems with setpoint. Basically I just got rid of setpoint (because it would not correctly remap), and ran without it.

Nice Solution and explanation.

one detail to still work out...

anyone familiar with setting up Tasks in win 7?

i have the task set up to start setpoint when i log on, but when the computer wakes up from sleeping, setpoint is NOT restarted, it usually disappears. i have to click it again to start it.

any ideas to get this working after resuming from sleep?
