Hi,

Recently my office was bought a new batch of PC to us, is a happy things, right? Since the PC had update from Windows XP pro to Windows 7 pro.

However, the document which we shared in the LAN had affected suddently. For example, the formula in the document should calculate automatical but the setting change to manual; for microsoft word, the document suddently appear the page borders which previously does not have.

Oh ya, the documents is save in Microsoft Office 97-2003 version.

May i know what happen on it? Hope you guys can help me on this.

Thanks~!!

Hi Pax and welcome to the Forum.
You say
Since the PC had update from Windows XP pro to Windows 7 pro.
But there's no update from XP to Win 7. Do you mean that the new PC's have Win 7 pre installed? What version of MS Office do you have on the new PC's? Where is this document stored as if it has been transferred from one PC to another it may have got corrupted on the transfer?

Hi,

We had change to a new PC which using Windows 7 pro. The new Microsoft Office we are using in MS 2010.

But the document which affected is saved in MS version 97-2003.

Eee, the documents does not transfer, cz it all was stored in a system by LAN, so each staff in office can share the document. Since no transfer, i guess the document doesn't corrupted, right?

Hi
You sem a little confused. The file in question must be stored in a storage media somewhere, probably on a hard drive in the master PC from where all PC's on the local area network (LAN) will be given access. This PC should be under the control of the System Administrator in your organisation. I think it best if you refer to the Administrator for help with this.
BTW Is your timezone for this Forum correct as it appears you are working in the middle of the night?

Hi,

I asked the System Administrator but he said we don't have the master PC, we was using the server to allow access.

Yea, I even ask the IT executive but he was not familiar with the Windows but repair PC only.=='

Haha, I didn't change the timezone la.

It would seem to me your IT department fouled thing up somewhere with the new computers. They probably need to do something with the servers well.
