I'll keep this short

I need to recover windows but when I open the recovery manager I cannot use anything except the windows RE command line.

I did some digging and found that the OsInstallLocation tag in the ReAgent.xml file is not set. It looks like this.

<OsInstallLocation path="" id="0" offset="0" guid="{00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000}"/>

I need to recover windows to a logical partition(/dev/sda8) and my question is how do I find the windows path to that partition and set it?

I am running Ubuntu 10.10 with OpenSUSE 11.4 MC1

I have an HP-Pavilion DV6 notebook.

Hello bayanr, welcome to Seven Forums!

Before we make any specific recommendations will you please post a snip/screen-shot of the entire disk management drive map with a full description as to which drive/partition is which, so we can see what you have.

In the Windows start menu right click computer and click manage, in the left pane of the "Computer Management" window that opens click disk management and post a snip of that.
