Outlook does not appear in the program list when I try to set it as my default email program. I'm not interested in setting up a Windows Live account. All I want to do is be able to send emails from links in Internet Explorer 8. Whenever I try to do that, I get a message saying something about my email program is not properly installed. Now, I am using and have been using Outlook and it is properly installed as far as I can see. These are all MS programs, what gives?

First try using Microsoft Upgrade Advisor, to uncover any incompatibility issues that may be causing the problem. If none are discovered, try uninstalling and then installing again.
I would also check the email setting in your Anti Virus. Most Anti Virus appl. verify that incomming email does not contain a virus. This may be part of the problem.
