Hi
I want to enable the sleep mode on my pc. I've followed the instructions in the tutorial, but I guess I'm missing something. the outcome is that the display is shutting down after the time set in the power plan, but the computer keeps running. also I would like to ask why there are two different places to set the sleep time, one in the "change settings for the plan: Power saver" screen and then after choosing the "change advanced power settings"?
Thanx.

Thanx. that's odd, I'm baffled. I've set the display to turn off and the put the computer to sleep, both for 1 minute (on the "Change settings for the plan: Power saver" screen) and to sleep after 1 minute on the advanced power settings. the outcome that the display indeed turned off after one minute and the computer went to sleep about 30 seconds later. my satisfaction was premature because after I've changed all three settings to 2 minutes, only the display turned off, the computer didn't went to sleep. any assumption/explanation?

No explanation!
When I change times in power options it changes in advanced as well!
If you change the times in power options to something else, does it work?
Have your run system file checker?
sfc /scannow from Administrative Command Prompt?

No, it doesn't effect. for example, I've set in the power plan screen the time to 5 minutes, both for the display & computer, but the advanced remained 2 minutes, as it was set previously, without change. as per your other suggestion, I'll check it.
Thanx.
