Hello all.

I currently have a TBS-8920-DVB-S2 card installed....It took hours to get the EPG set up the way I wanted. With this card I can't watch/record at the same time.

So I want to add a 2nd card to make this possible....The card I will be using is a Kworld USB Dual DVB-T Stick.

Is it possible to tune the 2nd card in without disrupting the setting for the 1st card?

If this is possible...how do you do you go about doing this?

1st card is is satellite (freesat)...2nd card is terrestrial (freeview)

Operating system: Window 7 home premium X64

Thank you for any help provided.

Hi there. I have been running a dual freesat and freeview system for a couple of years, and have just about figured out the basics of doing this.

Freesat is the harder one. so the fact you already have that setup should help...

When I run my freesat scan it usually labels the channels 101, 102 etc.

When you run the freeview scan it will label them 1, 2 3 etc.

Then I have to manually map/condense the duplicated channels together. so taking BBC 1 for example, you can go to channel 101, and set the listings equal to those on channel 1. It will then throw a message saying do you want to just copy the listings, or merge the channels.

Choose merge. Then when you go into channel 1 and choose "edit sources" you should see two listed, the freeview one and the freesat one.

I do that for every shared channel (approx 30 or so).

If you have already changed your satellite 101 channel to number 1 then i'm not sure what happens when you run the freeview scan.

There is a tool that lets you edit the channel/guide information directly, I tried it once but then it crashed.

Hello irrotational....thank you for the reply.

I have connected the Kworld USB Dual DVB-T Stick and installed the driver but have not done a scan yet.

When you run the freeview scan it will label them 1, 2 3 etc.

Where do I find the freeview scan? When I go to settings>TV>TV signal...all I see is "satellite transponder scan." I don't see any other options.

I still have BBC1/BBC2/ITV...etc set as 101/102/103...etc but after that I have moved channel numbers around...ITV2/ITV3/ITV4 are on channel numbers 118/120/122.

I have used guide tool before to get EPG listing for some channels...but since then I've switched to EPG collector for that....but I will use it again to merge the channels once I find out how to do a freeview scan.

hmmm - on mine media center automatically detected that there was both types of card and so it gave me both options for scanning. The last few times i have done it, i have completely re-set the tv settings for other reasons so used the TV setup wizzard from scratch.

You *may* have to reset the TV settings and start from scratch...or it maybe a simple matter of turning your pc off and on again, to kick start it.

I've been told that media center will pop up a box if it detects a new TV tuner and say something like "detected new tuner do you want to add/scan" or something like that...

Try searching here or google for "add new tuner to windows media center" or some such?

Thanks a lot for your help.

I had to start from scratch

Couldn't get the freeview scan to appear...It's now there after a complete resetting of everything...loosing all my original EPG settings...Now hours of moving stuff around to get it the way I like it.
