I would like to setup an Local Admin account named "TOM". TOM account should be the account that is used when the laptop is first boots up after installation.

With Windows XP, I was able to setup a Administrator "TOM" account without an additional Administrator Account. I would like to do the same in Vista/Windows 7.

Ah

OK you need an admin to set up TOm as admin after you do that you can disable the visible admin account, and the hidden one as well though I wouldnt just in case.

Still not sure what you are attempting but I am being dense today sorry

Ken, like you I am not sure what Senathon is asking for, but when I install 7, I have the opportunity to name the first user account created to anything I wish. The OP could name this account TOM (as it is an administrator account by default) and after installation was completed could create other limited user accounts.

If he is asking about an already working 7 OS, there are several options that would lead to one administrator account named TOM with other limited accounts. Hope this is helpful?

All of my systems still run fastest on XP 32-bit for the most part. Win7 is fun to play with, but I still prefer XP for raw speed, security, and functionality.
