I've been getting these at random times, it'll do it no matter what programs I'm running. I use chrome, firefox, and SR ware iron for browsers. trillian for messaging. sometimes have open excel. and always have my sticky note up. i don't have a firewall or antivirus installed, as i'm pretty confident in my ability to not get viruses (i've had this system almost a year with no problems) but i do run housecall every couple months to be sure. i also ran a malware detector yesterday and it came up clear.
i did a system restore to the 14th, when i had installed the new java upgrade (java 7, update 17) and didn't solve the problem. i did a system restore to the 7th (automatic restore point) and didn't get the BSOD for about 12 hours so i thought it was fixed. now it's back.
at one point yesterday, i couldn't even boot windows without the BSOD - would just give me a continuous loop of "loading" "bsod" and options to start normally or run startup repair (which didn't help)
i used the SF diagnostic tool and attached the zip as instructed.

thanks for any help you can give!

After looking at your mini, its a hardware issue.

Have you overclocked your cpu?

Have you installed any new hardware?

Have you tried running memtest?

How hot does your CPU get?

It sounds like a failing hard drive, what kind of HDD do you own.

Thanks for looking!
I've not overclocked. I haven't installed hardware (it's a laptop, so i don't usually mess with things like that)
I did do the memory test that's suggested when it restarts after a failed boot, there were 3 options (quick test and more comprehensive ones) - i did the middle one with 2 passes and it said everything was fine. i did the more comprehensive one but got tired of waiting for the second pass and cleared out of it, but i will try that again if you think it'll help.

it doesn't seem to get too hot, not nearly as much as computers i've owned in the past, plus i've had a chill mat under it at all times (one with beads that turn to gel when they get too hot) and there's always beads, so not hot enough to turn it to gel, if that makes any sense. i'm not sure how to check how hot it gets other than feeling it, though.

hard drive (per device manager) says "st9500325as" - seagate 500 gb (per google)

thanks again for the reply.

ok do me a favor and run seatools to diagnose your hard drive, i think it might be going *Kaput*.

And you can find a cpu sensor online. there are lots out there that can show you the temp of your gpu, cpu, ram and motherboard.

Well I ran a chkdsk /f and went to bed, which was kinda dumb because I didn't see the results of it...
I also ran the Seatools "long generic" test and it passed. Any other suggestions?

Thanks, Yard Dog, for the recommendation of the hardware monitor, here's a screen shot of it, after running for 11 hours.
