several crashes without minidump report

hello guys, i hope u can help me

im having a problem since a few months ago, my pc crashes several times (around 3 a day) without creating a small or big minidump file.
i both tried to let the small memory dump and kernel memory dump record, but everytime when my pc crashed and im back on the desktop i cant find a minidump folder under C:/Windows/.
so i can only give you the records of the event viewer, mostly i get 2 errors, which are recorded after i rebooted the pc and not in the time when it crashed.

both errors occur after the workstation entered the running state.
the first error has the event ID 7009 (A timeout was reached (30000 milliseconds) while waiting for the 1009900876SsTR service to connect.)
right after him comes the second one with the event ID 7000 (The 1009900876SsTR service failed to start due to the following error:
The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.)

and sometimes i get an error after The PnkBstrB service entered the running state.
punkbuster is an anticheat programm used in games like battlefield, so i guess the following error with the event ID 36888 is no big deal:
(The following fatal alert was generated: 10. The internal error state is 10.)

im more concerned about the first 2 because they cause my computer to freeze or restart itself.
sometimes when im watching a movie or stream video and the pc freezes my sound also hangs and makes a distorted/blurred constant noise until i restart the computer.

im so hoping u can help me cuz this is very annoying. i edited all my pc specs in my profile, except the soundcard(s).
i didnt buy an extra soundcard and everest is telling me i have 2
the first one:
ATI RV770/790 - High Definition Audio Controller
the second one:
Intel 82801JB ICH10 - High Definition Audio Controller

thx in advance for your effort

is it possible that the 2 errors event ID 7009 and 7000 have something to do with my soundcard(s)?

i tried to install starcraft 2 and while installing a story is told with some animated pictures...anyway i tried to install the game around 5 times now and every time my pc crashed.
i had the same install problem when i tried to install just cause 2 cuz there was a background music in the installer.

maybe the disturb each other and i can only run 1 of them, is there a way to find that out? i also cant change the volume of the bass and rear speakers of my 5.1 roccat kave headset on its controler either.

Also have an Asus ha1002xp netbook with Win 7 Ultimate installed.
ok i changed the pagefile from automatic to manual and set the initial size to 4087 and the maximum size to 6130. is that right? i have 4gb ddr3 ram.
the pagefile is on the os drive.
the WER service is also set to manual.
i dont understand the next point where i am told to set the pagefile to system managed.

it was set to system managed (i set it back to system managed), but then it has a size of 4087, like my ram.
i read in another forum that the pagefile should be 1,5 to the ram size.
windows also recommends me to set the ram to 6130 but it seems that it doesnt do that when it is set to "system managed" or am i wrong?

the thing with the zip file ill try tomorrow cuz its late here

ty again

lol i downloaded the zip and bitdefender told me that its kinda dangerous do i really need to run the file or is it just a double check thing?

let MS manage the paging file.

Be sure you have also fulfilled the other steps to be able to generate a minidump.

what zip file are you talking about? Did you maybe get your threads mixed up?

u gave me a link to tech support forum, where a checklist is given on what to do when no memory dump is created, the last point on the list is to download a zip file, extract it and run it as administrator

did i misunderstood something? im german....

You read correctly.

Since that reference came from a source I trust, then I had not read it.

Do not use it. I will remove it from my list. Now let me see what I can find.

Haven't precisely found it so I'm rolling my own here:

  1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
  2. Double-click System.
  3. Click the Advanced tab, and then click Settings under Startup and Recovery.
  4. In the Write debugging information list, click Small memory dump (128k).

To change the folder location for the small memory dump files, type a new path in the Dump File box (or in the Small dump directory box, depending on your version of Windows).
Be sure that Paging file is enabled and set to System Managed Size. (It already is unless you messed with this setting.)

The Windows Error Reporting service must be running. This one you correct by starting the service and changing the setting to Automatic starting.
WIN key | type SERVICES.MSC | Enter key |
in the Name column scroll down to find the Windows Error Reporting Service |
left-click on Windows Error Reporting Service to select |
.in the left-hand pane you will see "Start the service" |
click on "Start" which will be highlighted.

Sorry about the mistake. I'll let jc griff know that his writeup could be updated for the type of dumps we need and to be applicable to Win 7.

i started WER as you recomment it, but didnt choose any startup type yet, because im unsure which automatic shall i use:
automatic or automatic (delayed start)

in another forum we discovered that 1009900876SsTR is some kind of malware service in the msconfig services list.
it was on top of all with unknown manufacturer and status set to "stopped".
i unchecked the box next to 1009900876SsTR and restarted the pc.

but still i get random restarts from time to time and cant install starcraft 2

so we thought that it might be a soundissue (would this explain randomrestarts when no sound is in use? guess not but its worth a try).

anyways a guy said that i have to disable onboard audio in the bios, but im unsure which of my onboard device configuration is this onboard audio, so i made this map of my onboard device config. in bios (the option in bracktes is the other possible configuration):

Onboard Device - Standard (Disable)
High Definition Audio - Enabled (Disable)
Front Panel Type - HDAudio (AC97)
JMicron eSATA/PATA Controller - Enabled (Disable)
Realtek LAN - Enabled (Disable)
LAN Boot ROM - Disabled (Enable)
Onboard 1394 Controller - Enabled (Disable)

the other thing is that i have 2 devices listed und er "sound, audio and game controllers" in the device manager
ATI High Definition Audio Device and High Definition Audio Device

the same guy said that i should disable one of them, but im again unsure which of those is not necessary.
do i even need to disable one, because my friend has the same graphic card like me (except i have the oc edition and he the normal one) and he has no problems at all and also hase those 2 devices listed under "sound, audio and game controllers"

do you need a cpu-z log?

automatic start, not delayed start.

But I'm going to bow out. There are too many cooks in the kitchen. bringt nur Schwierigkeiten mit.

Hi! I've got some very similar problems like Barackenkaempfe (I'm German, too). I've searched google about my PSU and came to this site. If you, Barackenkaempfe, read my post, please contact me via mail cweigel(at)cweigel.de. Maybe we find a solution...
Have a nice day!
