ok so im a wits end here, i have posted a few other places and have gotten nowhere. if i try to fix one problem the others cuase me to hit a dead end.
here is a list of my woes.

1) my anti virus will not start up (MSE) and they say it might be due to having remnant antivirus on my computer so im running opswat gears pakage one and it seems to be struggling.
2) i cant run sfc scan for whatever reason even in admin mode.
3)i cant update my computer. it will say updating but then it will stay that way for however long i let it sit for. i once let it "update" for two days and ended up having to restart the thing.
4) sometimes i have to restart my computer 10+ times to all the programs working including my internet. i have tried going into sercives as admin to check if the corect stuff is started but nothign really changes.
5) its a 10% chance that i can even download or undownload a program.
6) shockwave player will not work on ALL browsers making looking for answers and doign anything damn near impossible.

im sure i am forgetting a few but thats the gist of what im dealign with. they all tie into each other and im pretty lost. im about to do a factory reset but thats my last resort.

any help would be amazing.

Have a backup image on another disc? Will it not restore to an earlier time? What version shockwave? Known Shockwave Zero Day Exploit on v19.0.0.185 and 19.0.0.207, Adobe has no newer version yet.

Don't do anything to shockwave until Adobe has newer than 19.0.0.207. Any reason why no restore points available? You should complete your system specs in your profile. What were you doing before this started happening? Installing anything or making system changes?

ill work on getting it all filled in.

the problems started to occur gradually as time went by starting from when my avast stoped working. doing the same thing that my MSE is now doing. i did some research and got rid of my avast and obtained MSE. i dont download hardly anything. i spend most of my time playing league or on facebook.

im not sure why it shows no restore point. did i need to go in and manually make one at some point?

No restore points is not good. Windows should be creating them on a regular basis, unless you or a virus disabled that function. Most likely an infection turned that off and eliminated any that existed. Have you tried MalwareBytes Anti Malware?

yeah i figured. im pretty sure that what ever i had/have decimated alot of my computer. lesson learned.

anyways yes i do indeed have malware bytes. i have the free version as the paid version seems to conflict with MSE?
and i also just ran it and it came up with nothing. i just did a reboot of my computer and my MSE just came back on and is working. but it goes off after being in sleep mode.

after the reboot i ran a full scan and its still going. but i ahve done all this before it come up with nothing.

Free version is all I have, it's fine. MSE should always start automatically unless not configured that way in services. It's late here, I'll check back tomorrow. Keep your hopes up.

Do a restore for sure. As far back as you can go feeling comfortable. If that goes well, create a new restore point manually and name it something special.
Run MalwareBytes again or anytime in my opinion. It's never hurt me.

Never connect to the internet without protection.

My 32 bit 7 wont download updates, try turning off your anti virus and windows defender and any other protection things in the control panel while your downloading. How many things are in your startup menu? start>msconfig>strtup, I only have my antivirus working on startup.

I'm sorry, but one should never be connected to the internet without an antivirus running. In my opinion, turning anti-virus and defender off while downloading anything is like walking around with your pants down and saying please don't screw me.

As far as I know Malwarebytes work with any anti virus.
If one finds a anti virus program that interferes with Malwarebytes then choose another anti virus program.

I know for sure Malwarebytes works well with MSE.
I have been using both together on two computer for a long time.

I never turn my security off to download anything.
When my systems boot both Malwarebytes and MSE start and stay running until I shut down the computers.
Security isn't much good if you turn it off.

The OP said ........i cant update my computer. it will say updating but then it will stay that way for however long i let it sit for. i once let it "update" for two days and ended up having to restart the thing.......

Trying to update, windows update? not just download anything at all, but updating,, trying turning off the anti virus and firewalls etc, windows defender etc..............update the computer, and then the tricky bit, turn the anti virus..........................back on!

I think if I was having that many problems and system restore didn't fix it and malwarebytes didn't find something and fix it - I would reset to factory settings. Do you have a built in reset to factory settings or would it mean a clean install from Windows 7 disc? Do you know what might have set all these issues off (eg downloading something or running a registry scan or something?).

I had to do some similar things re turning off antivirus recently when couldn't get updates. What I did was:

Download malwarebytes onto an sd card (from another computer if necessary). You copy the downloaded file onto the sd card without running it.

Disconnect the internet on your computer. Turn off MSE. Insert SD card into computer and double click on Malwarebytes download, which starts the install. When it is installed, connect internet again while malwarebytes updates (usually takes less than a minute), then turn internet off again.

Run Malwarebytes. Then uninstall malwarebytes in Control panel, turn MSE back on, reconnect to internet.

If you do reset to factory settings - back up all your documents, music, photos and videos onto a usb or external hard drive and make a note of all programs you have installed and their product keys before resetting, so you can reinstall them all again without problems after reinstalling Windows.

If Malwarebytes doesn't find anything then maybe the system has just been corrupted somehow and this might need a reinstall.
