Several questions on problems with Adobe Flash ActiveX?

I guess I should be posting on an Adobe forum, but I do feel comfortable that you folks will be able to help me.

1. The windows program remover shows that I have Flash player 11 ActiveX installed, but I can't find it within windows explorer. How do I find it?

2. I know it is some where as on certain videos I get a small dropdown that I believe is adobe flash asking for permission to store stuff. Is it advisable to allow for storage? What the benefits of storage...probably faster startup?

1) The Flash used in IE and other browsers is listed in Program and Features.
Start> Control Panel> Programs and Features> Adobe Flash 11. It will be listed there and can be uninstalled from there.

2) The web page is asking to store Flash cookies and other info on your computer. If your on some of the more questionable web sites and their security has been breeched it will also allow virus and Trojans to be downloaded to your computer.
Trusted sites such as sevenforums okay.
What you allow on each web site consider the site you are visiting before allowing. So that is up to you.

Also if using Google Chrome browser the Flash is part of the browser so it is not uninstallable from Chrome.

Thamk you. I found Flash 32-bit in Control Panel>small icons. Shouldn't I have a 64-bit version of flash for my 64-bit OS? But then again, I'm not sure if I need 64-bit for my browsers (Maxthon 3.5.18, Firefox 7, IE9??? Within it were the flash controls that I was looking for. I guess it is up to each of us as to what we deem to be safe sites to allow storge on. What are the downsides, if any, if I simply don't allow storage on any site?

The 64 bit version of Windows 7 has 32 bit and 64 bit versions of Internet Explorer. The 32 bit version of Internet Explorer is set as default so you likely never used the 64 bit version unless you access it though the start menu. You don't need the 64 bit flash plug-in unless you plan to use the 64 bit version of IE. You can install both the 32 bit and 64 bit flash plug-ins if you want, I did on my system. I installed both versions of the Java plug-in too.

If you go here> Adobe - Flash Player you can find what Flash version you are running and you can select to update to a newer version if available. Works for IE 32 and 64 bit browsers. I just updated my IE-64bit.
My IE-32bit is already up to date.

If you delete the old IE-32 bit version or do not have the 64bit version installed it will automatically install them for you at the above link.
Just go to the link using each IE version.
If you don't use your IE-64bit then it is not necessary to install the Flash for it.

I didn't need the IE-64bit Flash I just wanted to see if the test page would install it. Research.

Thanks, again. Just would like to have one final question answered: What are the downsides, if any, to not allowing for storage?

Just for the hell of it, I dl'd the 64-bit versions for IE9 and for Other Browsers. The dls appeared to be successful excepet I got an alert message stating that I didn't have http://gt.adobe.com/flashplayer/completion/aih/?exitcode=0. So I successfully dl'd it too. Don't really know what I'm doing, but figure it is OK from Adobe. BTW, I only occasionally use IE9, but don't know if it is 64 or 32-bit. Also, I've just migrated from Maxthon 2.5.18.1000 (was my main browser, but as the Mx folks are now developing Mx3-which is nowhere near prime time, and thus are not supporting further development of Mx2 and it is always crashing), Firefox 7.0.1 has become my main browser. So, given this info, could you suggest just which versions of Flashplayer I should hod onto?
