Hi all
I have an Acer aspire one 722 laptop running windows 7 ultimate. I am facing two problems.

1. My display flashes very badly sometimes.Occurs when I open opera or Chrome but not always. If I window the browser during the flashing the flashing is contained in the browser window and the background remains ok!! Doesnt happen with any other program or window.

2. Sometimes the windows explorer goes to full screen mode spontaneously.Similar thing also happens with Opera/Chrome browser.

Now all of this is independent of the lid position-does not change on varying the angle of the laptop screen.

Please see these videos i have captured with my cell phone.

Hi Ray, this looks like the browser is minimizing and maximizing really quickly, have you managed to do a virus scan since this started occurring? something looks like it's trying to take over the window...

Hi
Thanks for the reply.
Well scanned my computer with AVG antivirus 2015 free edition ..shows its clean.

Could it be that a key in my keyboard has shorted leading to rapid maximizing or minimizing of the window? But wouldnt that then affect any window and not specifically my browser windows? What is the shortcut key for maximize/minimise browser window?

Also why does my windows explorer suddenly go full screen sometimes?

Thanks.

the key for minimizing is actually windows logo+M, it shouldn't happen like that though, to maximise again, it's the shift and windows logo+M, seems a little odd, it's like software is doing it in the background, I would control+alt+delete and load up task manager and go to processes, see if you can find any unrecognised programs that are taking up more memory than usual.

Well I updated my graphics drivers (for want of anything better to do) and the problem hasnt recurred so far....but I have a feeling that it will again at some point of time.
Next time it happens will open the Task manager and see.
