I have attached my CBS log file. I have an Corsair SSD drive that I boot from, and 3 TB of regular drives. Recently my SSD has slowed to a crawl, and just moving/deleting/copying produced errors and lockups. No virus or malware. Did not know I had to switch BIOS/OS settings to AHCI. Did that, but still get errors.

Did all the regular troubleshooting stuff (chkdsk, defrag, registry optimize, clean). Did SFC /scannow and found a bunch of errors that it could not fix. Downloaded from this site the ISO to build Win7 SP1, but no matter what I do, it still says my installation is newer than it is, and stops the install/repair.

So, I am back to trying to manually fixing the SFC errors. But, I have no idea what these errors mean; even looked them up and still don't get it.

For instance, what does this mean? How do you manually repair this?

Does your installation have SP1? Is it a different bit-version 32- or 64-bit? These are the most common reasons for the error during Repair Install.

Does the problem persist after unplugging the other HD's?

What I would consider is getting a perfect Clean Install with a Upgrade Windows 7 Version following only the Best Practices in the tutorial to setup and maintain the install, then in the future fall back on a Win7 backup image if these problems arise again.

Did you install the OS on the SSD with the AHCI controller enabled? If not, TRIM (garbage collection) may not be working even if you do change from IDE to AHCI. Not completely sure...but that is what the video at NewEgg is saying...

Thanks for the reply! Yes, running SP1 64 bit. No, didn't have AHCI on until a week after install. What newegg video? May have to do the reinstall.

Is there no way to fix these SFC errors manually? If I knew what they were, location, function, I could go into safemode and delete them, replace them...? Thoughts?

The best way to fix these files is to run SFC again a few more times to see if it will do it for you, then follow the steps in Option Three of SFC -SCANNOW Command to try to fix them yourself.

If this fails, you'll need a Repair Install or Clean Reisntall.

You might check the Microsoft site to see what can be done. But the process can get a little complicated, if you have many problem files. What gregrocker suggest about reinstalling might be good if you decide not to go the repair route.

How to use the System File Checker tool to troubleshoot missing or corrupted system files on Windows Vista or on Windows 7

The NewEgg video is at the link and they have a couple of videos that go through some of the information for SSDs. Look in the middle of the page. It may also be on YouTube.
