SFC /SCANNOW fails, also will not perform an in place upgrade..

PC was brought to me because it wouldn't run windows updates, windows quit installaing them about 3 mos ago. Tried the system file checker reports bad files but was unable to repair them, then after going round and round with that i said f it and tried a repair install, at 15% it tells me that unpacking failed, so i burned another disk, same thing, so i dl'd another image, checked md5, all good, burned, verified, same thing, got angry, broke newly burned disk, made usb, verified, same thing, ran chkdsk /f /r, found orphaned files and some odd descriptor problems, says it fixed them all, ran install again from usb while booted into windows, this time it made it to 83% of transferring files and settings and crapped out on me there, i need help, please. Here is the CBS.log and the other files from the dir that i could include while staying under the 8mb limit, thanks in advance for any help provided

Until someone else comes along who can look through the CBS log, have you ruled out all hardware issues?

Honestly im willing to think about everything, i have run mem tests, all 16gb reports good, scanned all three hdds, run ms fixit, deleted old updates, tried replacing files with ones from another pc, u name it, would just reinstall but was told that was the only thing really off limits as some programs could not be reacquired by the owner

This sounds like our old friend KB3004394 is messing things up.
First, please run an MGADiag report...

I need to see a full copy of the report produced by the MGADiag tool
(download and save to desktop - http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 )
Once saved, run the tool.
Click on the Continue button, which will produce the report.
To copy the report to your response, click on the Copy button in the tool (ignore any error messages at this point), and then paste (using either r-click/Paste, or Ctrl+V ) into your response.

If KB3004394 is installed, uninstall it, and reboot twice.
Do a Check for Updates, and install the new version of KB3004394, and any other updates.
reboot again, and run a new MGADiag report, and post it.

It will NOT fix missing and damaged files - and will NOT fix the other issues I can see.

This, however will fix (at least should fix!) the files found so far...

I've uploaded a file - nscaa.zip - to my OneDrive at Noel's OneDrive
Please download and save it.

Right-click on the saved file and select Extract all...
Change the target to C:\ and click on Extract
Close all windows (it would be a good idea to print these instructions!)

Now reboot to the Repair Environment - as soon as the machine restarts, start tapping F8 - this should bring up the Advanced Boot Menu, at the top of which should be the option 'Repair my Computer'
Pick that
You'll have to log in with your username and password.

Pick the option to use a Command Prompt
At the prompt type
DIR C:\nscaa
hit the enter key - if you get a 'Not Found' error try
DIR D:\nscaa
or
DIR E:\nscaa

The drive letter in use when you find the folder will need to be substituted (for<drive>) into the following command...

XCOPY <drive>:\nscaa <drive>:\windows\winsxs /y /i /s /v /h

(e.g. XCOPY P:\wfire P:\windows\winsxs /y /i /s /v /h )

run the command (it should take almost no time) and when the prompt returns, type
EXIT
and hit the Enter key to exit Command Prompt - reboot to Normal Mode Windows.

Now run SFC /SCANNOW in an Elevated Command Prompt
then reboot and upload the new CBS.log file to your reply

Thanks everyone

I just wanted to say thanks for all the suggestions so far, i'`````````````m off work today so i dont have the pc in front of me atm, but i will surely try all of this stuff when i get in there tomorrow, i just honestly didn't know where to turn, i have been working in a mom an pop repair shop for 4 years now and have never seen anything close to this messed up, but then again usually if something were this messed up i would just wipe and re-install everything, but the guy is a sound engineer, and has a few hand made cards in his pc (PCI sound Cards) that supposedly have hand made and hand tweaked drivers for his pc, all was well for him until earlier this year and he started having problems with updates and after about 3 mos of him messing with it, then he gave up and brought it to me, and after almost 2 weeks i came to you all, oh and thanks for the drivers for the boost ssd, i will be updating those today for sure. once again thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you all

hmmm.....

So i attempted to remove bitdefender, key word being attempted... add remove programs was completely worthless, wouldn't ever start the installer ( i get it sys files are borked ) so i got the uninstaller from them and that removed it from the start menu and add remove, but said that it also failed to remove the product at the end of the uninstall, this pc is telling me to take it outside and smash it with a sledge... once again thank you for the help you have all given so far, i do really appreciate it.

Extraordinarily lame...

So after the incomplete removal of bitdefender, i restarted from the install disk (Win 7 pro SP1 ) ran another round of sfc with the offline options, once again failed (big surprise) i didn't expect it to go through anyways, then ran chkdsk, lo and behold, it recovered a large number of orphaned files and then the unexpected... it found bad sectors... now this is like 30 scans in with multiple programs, chkdsk being the most used, but still it took like 30 flippin scans to find the 2 ( so far ) bad sectors on the solidstate that he has installed, im gonna go to the crucial website and look for a fw upgrade for that also, but i dont think it will actually fix it. will keep all posted, thanks.

EDIT: Now it's finding bad clusters alllllll over the place...

I don't honestly think there's much point in attempting to fix the current problems unless you can find a configuration that doesn't throw errors in MemTest.
Whatever we do before then could get undone (or worse) by the RAM problem.

Very Interesting.

Well I am at a loss for words at this point, but that's not necessarily a bad thing...
Ran the firmware update for the SSD (Crucial M4), then ran chkdsk G: /f /r /x from windows repair on the windows 7 pro x64 install disk, found bad sectors still, 8 this time, corrected 5, ran again found the 3 corrected 2, ran again found 1 didn't correct, ran again, found 1 didn't correct, ran again found 1 CORRECTED 1, ran again found none

, Ran again because i didn't believe it, once again it found none. Ran sfc /scannow /offbootdir=g: /offwindir=g:\windows\, which found errors in the file store and corrected some of them, but said some were uncorrectable, so i came in today, started pricing drives, figured it wouldn't hurt to try another repair install... and WHAM... it actually worked... So now I'm installing 154 of 181 of the first round of windows updates and all seems to be going well, customer still wants to replace the drive as this is not a problem that can continue on a production system (music producer) but atleast i can clone the darn thing after the updates (hopefully), now that it's acting a little better, onto the new drive, I think he is going with a samsung 850 pro ( comes with powerloss protection and a 10yr warranty ) and a massive increase in write speed, will keep you all posted, and update when mark thread when i am finally done with this thing, or should i close it now, since it seems the underlying problem has been at least realized if not yet quite fixed.

Edit: While installing updates, quite a few failed, restarted and ran sfc, didn't find any problems, started to irritate me, turned pc off, pulled ram... all 4 are crucial ballistix 1600mhz, 2x are at 10-10-10-28 and the other 2x are at 9-9-9-24... does this actually matter or will it just bump the 999 24 up to 10 10 10 28 and function properly?

edit 2: got bitdefender to uninstall completely finally... yay!

SFC /SCANNOW fails, also will not perform an in place upgrade..
