Solved sfc /scannow found files but couldnt fix all

I have desktop I purchased from ibuypower that had a msi hd 7750 graphics card on it and installed drivers, when I got it home I changed out the graphics card to NVidia GeForce gtx 760. the only reason I got this computer was to play my flight simulator on so when it comes to computer stuff, im a newb. anyway for the last 6 months the computers been fine. it has blue screened on me once but my newbishness overcame and I deleted the dump files with ccleaner so I couldn't tell what caused it. it happened when coming out of sleep mode. now when I changed graphics cards I followed someones procedure about uninstalling the old drivers and in his advice he suggested to use driver cleaner.net. wich I did to delete the remaining ati files fom my msi card. the computer has been running great with the gtx 760 its just I ran a sfc /scannow and all those ati files showed up as missing or corrupted. My question is, should I be worried about these files since I use NVidia graphics?, or should I repair them somehow? and if I should,how should I go about doing this? here are the corrupt files.

They appear to be part of a Nvidia video driver. If you have Nvidia, perhaps install the latest driver?

do you think if I follower the directions to take ownership of these files, I could delete them and then they wont show up on a sfc /scannow?

Open a Elevated Command Prompt.

Run DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

See if that fixes the problem.

tried it, it found 87 errors. it says that restorehealth option is not recognized in this context

Actually it's not 87 errors, it's error number 87. What the hell? I was adjusting some services yesterday and when I tried to change one of the services from auto to manual this error popped up .

System restore question!

Can I use system restore repeatingly until I find the restore point I need? Also, when I first got this computer, I made a system repair cd. If system restore doesn't work to fix my sfc /scannow files that were found, could I use that cd I made to replace those files? Thanks

Hello Justin,

A system repair disc is not an installation disc, so it does not contain any files that could be used to manually replace your system files with.

You could use system restore to go back to a restore point dated before you had the issue.

If you have not already, see if doing the listed items in the blue note box under step 4 in OPTION TWO of the tutorial below may be able to help with SFC.

Thank you brink! If you look in same category , you will see I've posted my sfc scannow finds. They are all ati files from my old graphics card. I believe this happend from me using driver cleaner.net improperly, to erase leftover ati files from computer. I now have nvidia graphics so I don't think I'm using any of those files but I still would like to repair those files. My oldest restore point doesn't go back far enoght to when I used driver cleaner to delete ati files. If I keep using system restore, will I eventually reach that restore point?

Open a Elevated Command Prompt.

Run DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

See if that fixes the problem.

Sorry, but DISM is only available in Windows 8/8.1.

Since these are only AMD drivers for an old graphics card, I wouldn't worry about it.

Did you already try uninstalling the driver normally in Programs and Features though?

Brink, yes , I did do the correct uninstall of drivers, but I didn't leave it alone and went and used driver cleaner.
So these files won't corrupt other files? I thoughti seen that somewhere. Thank you for your time brink

Na, they're just left over files from a borked uninstall, so they're not going to hurt anything.

Ok, I'll try and forget lol. Oh, when I ran that
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
There was an error :87 that came up. But then it wouldn't reconise anything else

That DISM command is not available in Windows 7. Only in Windows 8.
