I have my laptop connected to my router via Wifi, and my machine downstairs only has an ethernet port. If i connect my laptop downstairs can i share the wifi connection to my pc via a ethernet cable?

Ive foudn some posts and question about this before but none have worked.

My laptop has Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit and my machine has Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit.

If anyone can help that would be great.

PS: I dont wana buy anything new as that machine wont be there forever, i just want a quick free temporary way of doing this.

Thanks

you are going to have to buy an Ethernet cable if you don't have a spare one lying around.
so, if you don't have one, you are SOL since you stated you don't want to buy anything new.
