Shared files and printers not accessible - Firewall problem?

I recently purchased a new printer and went through the registry deleting references to the old printer.
(Yeah, yeah... I know I should've backed up the registry or even just not messed with it.)

I must've deleted something important though because while my printers are installed and working properly on the local machine (PC1), the other machines in my network can no longer access any shared features from that machine (PC1). I'm not convinced that's related but it's the only other thing I've done that might have some bearing on the issue.

When I attempt to access the PC (PC1) in the Network the remote machine (PC2) can't connect and the diagnostic offers the following message: Your computer appears to be correctly configured but the device or resource (PC1) is not responding. Also, file and print sharing resource (PC1) is online but isn't responding to connection attempts.

Turning off Windows Firewall on the local machine (PC1) will allow the connection and file and printer access.

I restored to a previous reset point and I've restored defaults to the firewall with no success.

I've also made sure that all references (both inbound and outbound rules) to file and print sharing in the firewall are enabled.

Please help me avoid a complete wipe and reload.

Restore the reg you delted from your backup or do system restore

I did do a system restore but that didn't fix it.
Restoring all firewall settings to default didn't do it.
Turning off the firewall on PC1 allows the printers through.
