My pavillion came with shared graphics memory and graphics on motherboard as there was no card just an expansion slot for another one, i installed a radeon 7800 card and am having trouble with frame rates. not sure if graphics memory is being shared by main system or not. the problem happens mostly in world of warcraft, i have completed all requests on thier help list, all updates are done. I got into my bios at start up but there is nothing on shared memory. any suggestions anyone?

I appreciate the free $29.00 registry cleaners (free?) but i dont have the money, spent $30 on (free) driver manager, all these are nothing more than a free scann, you want problems fixed you gotta pay. is there a registry cleaner on my comp? I plan on extending ram another 4-8 gig since deticated graphics memory does not truly exist, hope this helps. If someone knows of a truly free registry cleaner (not scanner) please post it. tyvm

dawg1,
Welcome to the forums!

Use this update your specs

What type of framerate problems are you having? Why do you think you have a memory issue? And yes stay away from pay to scan help programs. As far as shared memory, when you installed a discrete gpu your BIOS probably disabled the onboard gpu, thus no shared memory.

Why are you wanting to clean your registry?

You would be well advised to avoid all registry cleaners, free or otherwise. They generally cause more problems than they solve. The problems that they fix are usually of little consequence while the dangers can be very serious.

There really isn't anything wrong with fixing registry errors, if it could be done reliably. As it turns out that is a very difficult thing to do. It is rarely possible to determine with 100% accuracy that a specific registry entry is in error. As a result a registry cleaner must make frequent guesses. Most are right but some are not and those mistakes can have serious consequences.

It has been said that a registry cleaner is a solution looking for a problem, and not finding any creates a number of it's own.

Contrary to the registry cleaner adds, few real computer problems are caused by the registry.

OP, what video card do you have, There is no '7800' Radeon, except in laptops. [7850 or 7870 model, otherwise.]

If this is an OLD card it would be a Nvidia 7800.

I would check your BIOS though and turn off onboard video and if it has selection for finding video you want PEG or something similiar (however they worded it).
