Easy and we can walk you through it.

We do need the specs for both machines including the wifi model

If all you want to do is send files I can give you a simple solution. There is a remote desktop application called team viewer. It allows you to view, manipulate, and send and receive files in both directions, is easy to use, and free.

Another soloution is to set up a homegroup. i have a desktop and a laptop ,both running windows 7 and it is simple enough.
if you click your start button and click the help and support link just below default programs then type homegroup in the search box you will get a further 30 links to aid you from "what is a homegroup" to setting one up and sharing libraries. its all there.
don't hesitate to ask for further help
