Shark codecs

Installed codecs on friday, the day after i installed both the 32 bit & the additional 64 bit Sharkoo7 codecs, my system has crashed every time I use windows explorer. Cant access anything on my system now, not even system restore.

Is there any way to uninstall the codecs?

Have already uninstalled the additional 64 bit codec, cant uninstall the 32 bit one.

Do you have a backup from before the install of the codec pack? If so and you have a win 7 dvd you can boot from that and restore. If you do have a back up (but do have win 7) you can do a repair install by booting form the dvd.

Im unsure why this codec pack would cause such issues. it doesnt even make associations

To uninstall it, You need to run the Sharks Configuration as Admin.

Then uninstall from the Help Tab.

Shark007 gave me 10 trojans, run a virus scan and get rid of them.

I got them from Shark007's FREE Codec solutions - Windows 7 codecs

Iwould say it's a false positive.

What AV are you using? Or what exactly reported it as a trojan?


I have nver seen this, even with the latest, using NIS2011 or Malwarebytes

Trend Micro Internet Security and Malware Bytes both found Trojans.
