I passed every single network security test.

I do have my linksys WRT54GS set up to block echo requests... so thats why you cant ping me.

And as for windows firewall I completely removed the service so im 100% positive its not running...

i have relied on shieldsup for years. if you had no fire wall there is no way you would pass.

faith restored, i removed firewall ,av, disconected router plugged straight to modem and failed the tests miserably

Your router has a built in firewall - and that is the best kind of firewall.

Been playing with this issue since the time of the first post... My findings with dialup showed totally protected on all counts using GRC.. With wireless it wasn't bad but by all means my firewall needs to be adjusted... The router in question is a cross the street from me... GL

It should be adjusted to fully stealth all of your ports. Pay particular attention to netbios.

Each router brand has its own firewall set up here is mine. Note that I have unchecked netbios both outbound and inbound and I have checked stealth mode.
