Shift+Del somehow became identical to ctrl+v?

Hi. In the last couple of weeks, I've noticed that using shift+del in text input areas, such as Notepad, OOo Writer, browser text fields, etc - pretty much anywhere I can input text - shift+del is acting identically to ctrl+v. I don't know why this is occurring and I want to make it stop. I have not intentionally done anything to change key mapping.

Does anyone know anything about shift+del acting identically to ctrl+v? I know that shift+del is used to bypass the Recycle Bin when deleting files, and in fact that is the only topic I can find when Googling about this (adding "paste" does not seem to help my search results).

ETA: I should add that my keyboard is pretty standard and nothing had changed with it since I started noticing this...

The behavior you are getting is the old-school shortcut method. Windows honors both the old shortcuts and the new shortcuts

SHIFT+DEL -> Cut -> CTRL+X
CTRL+INS -> Copy -> CTRL+C
SHIFT+INS -> Paste -> CTRL+V

btw, SHIFT+DEL is CUT and not PASTE. SHIFT+INS is PASTE

Yes, I know it not supposed to be paste. But it is pasting, nonetheless.

I think perhaps my keyboard may be at fault and is triggering both delete and insert, but I'm not sure.

Try using another keyboard (if possible) and check if its works. It could be a problem with your keyboard.

on a side note: Are you using any other keyboard layout other than QWERTY or any language pack ?
