I am looking for any keyboard shortcut to show and hide desktop gadgets over my current working window. I also like a enable/disable feature for gadgets as a whole.
Right clicking on Desktop is not very usefull and impractical.

Thank you

Welcome to the forum sevenboy,

Desktop peak is one way that I know. Other than that theres the "Windows key + D" which basically does the same thing as desktop peak. Not sure of any other way.

Well, the only other thing I can think of is changing a gadget to "always on top", but I don't think thats what you want. You get there by right clicking on a gadget. If you try that, you can also set the opacity to something low as to still show whats underneath. Only problem with that is if you want to click on something on a window that is underneath you can't get to it. Something to maybe try tho.

I know what you mean though ( I think ...lol ) You'd like a hotkey/combo to show hide a gadget(s) by itself. Haven't seen anything like that. Its not say it can't be done, just I'm not aware of it.

Nice Link, thats about the most thorough one I've seen.

Good Luck, and let us know if you find anything.

P.S. If you can please fill out your system specs, it will really help the members here help you in the future. You can use this link to get to your edit system specs. thnx

This is one thing that annoys me about 7. OS X has Dashboard that's a key press away and fades out the screen then overlays your widgets, MS insists you minimize your entire workspace to easily access to your gadgets. Who's bright idea was this? It's terrible design.

You could try just getting a third party widget program. Konflabulator used to be really good but now has become Yahoo Widgets, so I don't know if it's changed much since then. Years ago I just set the hotkey as F8 and it worked beautifully.

um... aero peek?

just move your mouse into the bottom-right corner and you get a nice view of all your gadgets.

Win+G: Bring gadgets to the top of the Z-order

Doesn't toggle, so you have to click back on the window that's full screen to make them hide again, but brings them to the font without minimizing.

I know it's an old post, however, I'd like to share for those who don't know yet
holding Win + Space shows the desktop and therefore shows the gadget.
