shortcut icons on desktop

My shortcut icons on my desktop are too big, I'd love to have the MAC style where they are sort of hidden on the left and right sides and sort of wheel around, ( can we do that), but either way, how can I make them smaller...........

A fast way is to hold the Ctrl key while scrolling with the mouse wheel.

If you want to hide them, use Rocket Dock. Then hide the whole dock.

Thnx, i asked that elsewhere and will give it a try BUT the its the wifes laptop and I supose I "should" ask her first.

Shame I cannot reduce the size of my icons on my older pc...........or can I?

crikey ermmmmmmmmmmmm windows xp. Put rocket dock on the old pc BUT it soon fills up with shortcuts and IF you over fill it, the ones on the outer edges disappear

Try the old Windows way. Group all the shortcuts into a folder on the desktop. Then grab that folder and push it all the way to (into) the top of the screen where you release it. Then right click on that dock and set your options (e.g. hide). The folder has to stay on the desktop as repository and you can add more shortcuts as needed. That approach works in Vista and XP - but not in Win7.
