Windows 7 Pro 64-bit ~ Dell Alienware M11x-R3
I've got a horrible problem with one of my laptops, in that it suddenly and randomly goes "white screen". It is working normally "underneath", but I can't do anything with it besides hold down the power button until it switches off.
I will be sending it off to Dell for repair when I get a stand-in for it, but in the meantime...
This laptop spends all its time screen-capturing webcams. When I get the white screen I can use the recording software's short-cut keys to stop the recording, hence I don't lose anything by powering down. But of course the browsers don't shut down properly.
Can I create short-cut keys to close browsers? I mainly use Firefox, Chrome and IE, all up-to-date.
I've Googled but not found anything.

IIRC, in the old days we used to be able to use Ctrl+Alt+Del twice to close down the computer, but that doesn't work any more. If I can't close the browsers, then it would be nice to shut down the laptop with keys rather than use the power button - maybe you think it won't make any difference?
