shortcut missing in user desktop

a same shortcut has been missed from all user desktop.we are using windows 7 pro 32 bit.
we are using windows server 2000.
how can i restore that shortcut for users
please help me

Hello maslam and welcome to Seven Forums.

I'm not sure what shortcut is missing. Does the program or application appear in the Start Menu? If yes, can you right-click on the program/app > select Create Shortcut > then click Yes to have the shortcut placed on the desktop.

shortcut is leading to specific shared folder in storage device.moreover they cant create shortcut because they dont have permission to create shortcut..

Can they pin it to the taskbar ? If not you will have to sign on to each machine as an admin to put the shortcut on the desktop.

if i sign on to each machine, can u explain about how to create shortcut? i m sorry i am beginner in this field.
Is that something related with public desktop?...

You simply find the shared folder on each pc, copy it then paste it to the desktop. Where is the network administrator of this establishment ? He or she should be doing it, not you.

With all that money over there I`m sure someone is getting well paid.
