Should I be trusted with Classic Shell?

I don't have it yet but if I understand what I read it sounds like it makes my PC look more like XP. I really need to organize to get ready for a back up but find Win 7 confusing & thought maybe if things looked like xp that I could find stuff better. ???

What aspect of Windows 7 do you find confusing? Backups?

I find Windows XP much more difficult to use than Windows 7 now.

I've used this one for years. It is very customizable, menu styles, skins, start buttons, etc. Most folks who use it really like it. I use a classic style menu with a full glass skin.

And yes, you can trust this one.

Why you would not trust it?
It's quite reliable and does a great job in fixing the many designs flaws introduced in Vista, 7 and 8, specially in Windows Explorer it gets quite usable again, like the vastly superior XP version. Start menu is a nice addition too. And it also fixes a few IE bugs.
So far it never created any problems, and being quite customizable you may adjust exactly what features you want to restore. I find it to be a must for using explorer in Win7.

Thanks all but my question was should "I" be trusted, not the program. What I meant was that I'm still stumbling with learning 7 & had the dumb idea that I could do things easier if it was more like XP but after taking a better look at screen shots of Classic Shell I think maybe I should just "grab the bull" & take more time to learn 7, after all, it is what I have now & I'd most likely just cause myself more confusion.

@BlueRobot, I was more or less referring to 'finding' what I should back up for when I'm able to buy the items needed to actually do it. For some reason I just can't seem to understand Libraries. And yes, I'll need to do some study on backups.

You don't need to purchase any programs for Windows backups, although, there is debate wherever commercial backup software is more reliable than the Windows in-built features.

External HDD would be the best option, CD/DVDs can become starched easily.

That's what I was afraid of, am living on or should say 'trying to exist on' a small Social Security check & think I've read that those are pretty pricey.

Is that amount approximately $80 US?
Also, since I'm sooo PC illiterate, I don't have the foggiest idea of what to even look for. I went to amazon (USA) but had no idea of what I was seeing.

Just follow the advanced search options I used by checking my link, the external hard-drives will all be USB connected.
