I searched the internet to no avail; I read every speck of the Classic Shell descriptions and FAQs with the same lack of success.
Classic Shell version 4.3.1 (latest)
Problem machine = Sony VAIO laptop with Windows 7

I have Classic Shell installed on a Win 8.1 HP laptop and also a Win 10 HP laptop; on both of these, I have yet to find a feature that does not work.

I thought several of the Explorer toolbar features would be nice to have on my Windows 7 machines; so, seeing as I was playing around with this old dumpster-diving Sony (which works fine and was full of someone else's pictures), I figured it would be a good candidate to try it on.

Classic Shell installed and so far everything seems to be working as it should save for a few of my most favorite Explorer toolbar buttons.

Five of my chosen buttons show up on the toolbar as generic little squares; I can mouse over them and text pops up to tell me what they are.

I notice that these five buttons also lack icons in the toolbar setup menu.

The five buttons are Select All, Deselect, Invert Selection, Copy To, and Move To.

The first three, although lacking identifying icons, work as they should.

The last two, Copy To and Move To, do absolutely nothing, no response whatsoever.

Although all of the toolbar features are nice and very useful, I really wanted the two non-working button features.

I used the same setup file on this machine as I did on the others.

Has anyone else ran into this ?

Can I fix it ?

Am I going to have the same problem on my other Windows 7 machines ?

Thanks for reading and all help is appreciated.

After a bit of head scratching, I decided to just double-click the installation file and see what happened.(without first uninstalling)

When the wizard appeared, it offered a whole host of options, one of them being "Repair the Installation"

I clicked that and let it do it's thing; after which, I opened Explorer; and, at first, was a bit disappointed, as I still did not have the identifying icons; and, by that, I figured my efforts had been in vain.

Before I gave it up as a loss, I selected a file and clicked "Move To" and thistime I got action; the Move To dialogue appeared and worked just as it is supposed to.

I tried "Copy To" and it worked as well.

Maybe after a few machine restarts, and possibly another dose of "Repair", the icons will show up as well.

Anyway, things are working as I want them to and I am now confident to try it on some of my more prized machines.
