Hi,

Win7-Starter. Just happened to notice CVE-2012-4969 in my Programs and Features (P&F) listing.

I did a lot of searching and I think it may be a Trojan, or it may be a fix for a Trojan. It is confusing to tell from the search results.

I am running Security Essentials and Comodo and both are up to date. Also win7 is up to date too.

Should I remove the CVE-2012-4969 from the P&F list?

Thanks

Did you use the 'easy-to-fix-it tool'? (patch) or KB2744842 ... you can look in Programs and Features 'installed updates'.

Hi Jacee,
Thanks for the reply, yes I had already read that MSoft article and yes the KB2744842 had already been applied before I posted. It is listed in the Installed Updates.

I just do not understand why I have CVE-2012-4969 showing in the Installed Programs list.

I did a full scan with Security Essentials (SE) and it all came up as clean so SE is obviously happy with the CVE-2012-4969 being there.

So I still do not know if that is a Trojan or the fix.

Does anyone else have it in their Programs and Features list?

Thanks
