Currntly on Vista Ultimate 32x, n i love it ive not had a single problem since ive had it (3 years coming up), it runs at 445mb on idle :geek:.

But as Vista is been supperceeded by windows 7 now im unsure if i should install the RTM of ultimate 7.

i did beta test 7 a long time ago and i wasnt inpressed atall tbh, the only thing i liked was the new WMP skin . i couldnt see any nice fetures of 7 back then the GUI was awfull (task bar grouping). Have MS changed the look of the GUI and any nice fetures been added?

I had Vista Ultimate x32 on my main machine ... I loved it too! I had absolutely no problems with it, but I decided to Beta test Windows 7. Since I had no problems with either Beta or RC1, I went for RTM Ultimate x32 edition of Windows 7.

I won't look back ... this is my #1 OS! :D

If you like Vista, you will like 7. Windows 7 is just an improved Vista.

You have to make up your own mind. Most people seem to think W7 is a lot nicer than Vista. To me, aside from the obvious changes, it seems more optimized (in too many ways to mention) under the hood than Vista was. If you want to learn more about that sort of stuff, check out the MS Win 7 Engineering Blog.

try it as a dual-boot for a while, so you can run both your vista and 7.

that way you don't lose your current vista setup if for some strange reason you don't like 7.

great instructions for dual-boot setup here

i love win7
Well i didnt bother with Dual booting, i just created a VM with the 32x win 7 ultimate on and made sure it would work 1st after an hour of testing i decided to format and install the 64x win 7 ultimate, so far so good.

ive noticed though its still a memory hogger :( 856Mb ram on idle (no start up items) where as Vista was 863Mb on idle (no start up items).

i cant wait to change the way win 7 looks becuase its damn ugly as standard >.< the task bar is horrific to say the least.
