Cats are designed to be spoiled with treats. Just ask them, most will tell you treats are necessary for the proper mental state of a cat.

Helen watches the leaves blowing about from the window sill. She will not go outside for what ever reason.
She will watch them for long stretch of time. Then she will turn around and holler at me like I should be concerned about the invading leaves.

Is there a weight watchers for cats? That picture is 10 months old or so and shes about double the size now. Hard to get a good picture of her since I have a hard time getting all of her in the photo.


In all seriousness ... a few months back mine started urinating in places she shouldn't. Mostly in my little Schanuzzers doggy bed. Just a few drops and bright red.
Very unlike her as she always uses her litter box and always cleaning herself. She's as most cats are and quite serious over personal cleanliness.

She also got a bit nasty with me when petting her if anywhere near her lower end.

Took her to the vet and ended up being kidney stones. $1200 and a week later all was well again.
Shes almost 2 years old, so this was surprising to me.

At any count, I changed her over to Hills Science food. Took awhile and a lot of moaning and complaining from her but shes eating it now.

Anyone else have anything like this happen before? My vet said its hard to why she got them, but the analysis seems to indicated they originated from a bladder infection. And he thinks her diet may be the culprit of the original infection. But, its hard to say exactly. Just keep an eye on her.

Oh, and she used to love that shrimp flavor Fancy feast food, the flaked kind. My Vet told do not feed that to her. A lot of ash and fish oils that aren't good for them. And that could be part of the issue.
I always thought fish was good for cats!?!?! Anyone ever hear this before?

I'm no Vet but I've been dealing with my Cat's Colitis for quite a few years now, I took her to the Vet for something else and one of the first things they did was put her on Hill's Science Diet,

which I'm now convinced was the cause or at least aggravated the Colitis.

It was one of their prescription diets you can only get from a Vet, and you have to keep going back to the Vet for regular checkups, etc. I did that for a few years until I got tired of them looking at me like a bank.

I'm sure there are some good ones out there, but I'm disgusted with most of the ones around here, they just want to put your pet on medication, give them special diets and keep you coming back in the door.

That Hill's Science diet is junk in my opinion, their science is just a process, the ingredients are all the same. I've done a lot of studying on trying to find a way to heal my Cat without the steroid treatments they insist she would do better on.

I only feed her canned food now, grain free, grains aren't part of their natural diet.
