Lol, I was running out of space in the top of the closet, And tossed every box that I didn't need,

I also noticed that my iPad is not auto correcting some of the typos.

Ya, most of those were empty. I just saved them so if the part came back, I'd have a the original box to ram the part in.
I sell my old parts to finance the upgrades.
12 years ago, I stopped doing major upgrades since it wasn't cost effective, so I started using hand me down parts. I build someone a pc, and I'd get the old parts and use them.
I didn't build myself a new pc until 2008, an intel E8400, 2gb DDR2 Asus P5Q Pro, and a 9800GT,

I've already upgraded my pc 3 times in the last 8 months,
Q6600 with the P5Q Pro to an i7 870, then to an i7 2600K, and now to an i7 3770K.
I should be good for awhile.

lol im the same i only got my first desktop about 2 year ago tops n have rebuilt it 3 times. plus change keyboards,mice n headsets a few too as have most here probably lol

I'm in the same boat. That's how I built the last computer, with the left overs from upgrades. See Post #1425, it cost me $130.00, for the case.

I am afraid I am the same, I still have parts that are sealed in their boxes but are allready replaced by new stuff.

I sent the board back to suppliers today,so I await their response,but I am looking at the asus rampage iv extreme, it scores a bit higher then Evga's classified board on some reviews,and it's allot easier to find in S.A. So will see what happens, on another note,I will be receiving my wc items ither tomorrow or the day after

Well my cpu cooling stuff arived and I just placed an order for a new rampage IV extreme, gonna trash the old board,seeing as it is "imposable to fix" will hopefully have it all installed and watercooling running on the cpu by next weekend.

i got me a proppa bargain the other day. ive been looking for another Hanns-G HL231 to replace my LG 2361v as there was too much colour difference between screens. most places have stopped stocking it so it retails around £180 but i found and x-display one for £112 and not a mark on it. smashin job. now my lg one can go towards my daughters build

Very Nice, and yeah, I am back with the red and black. I had my eye on a new screen, but it's super hard to get it in S.A, samsung s27a750. So hopefully in a month or 2 they will arive here,so I can finally upgrade my screen

Also, in the pics, if you are wandering why the product key sticker is really worn out, it's because I had another sticker on top ,of it and when I removed it, it messed up my COA. Luckily, I can still read the key after writing in a little bit of it.

Sweet-looking laptop, Windude.

My rig had a terrible scare the past two weeks or so (which is why I wasn't around; that, and I couldn't remember my password to access here on the other rigs I have here. ) as I was entirely under the impression my Sabertooth had died - and some of you, if you'll remember, know my experience with Asus boards - and it wasn't pleasant.

Tuesday I had the idea of having one last go at trying to resurrect it from the dead by flashing back to the original BIOS before purchasing the UD5H. Once I made my way to the Asus site I DL'ed the release BIOS but I also noticed 1403 which is the newest release, so I DL'ed that and went with it instead. I grabbed my flash drive, plugged it into the flashback port, hit the BIOS Flashback button and waited for it to finish flashing.

Anticipation.

I hit the power button and two seconds later my monitor's power light turns blue and there it is - ALIVE! And to think all of this began over me wanting to cut the tubing down to an appropriate size, which I'm just starting anew with. It's sitting in my living room with some newly acquired black tubing that I actually need more of before I can stuff her back in the case but the stock HSF isn't doing a bad job for stock speeds.

Great story of fortitude and sticking with an issue. I've found that my level of stress goes up as I sort through my computer issues and as I get tired as hard as it is to actually go to sleep it's sleep that offers me the rest sometimes needed to wake up and often it renews my idea processes. Kind of like the re-boot that solves so much ......sleep on it and let your brain re-boot and often things get better quickly.

100% correct but what is it about us that we will work till it's fixed even when your'e so tired you can't really function. I've done it many times and regretted not taking a breath, some sleep and doing the job in less time and better. I fight just wanting it done and my system back to tip top form.
