OK I'll leave it at this for now I've got to go and take the dog a walk and stuff. When I go again is it safe to carry on where I left off, jump straight to +75MHz or do I have to build up to that again? I doubt I'll reach Ganj's 2000 but I may as well see how far I can go when I have the time.

to a degree. usually +300ish is more than adequate. adjusting it more really dosent have much gains.

It helps somewhat, but core is king. I don't recall the numbers, but the core is worth about 3 to 1, I think. You, for the most part need to balance them out. You most likely can't run at max core and max memory. With the 600 cards, you left the memory at stock then kept trying to find max core. Then left the core at stock and found max memory. Than you had to balance them out because you would never run with both set to max. But, core was still king, and still is, but memory helps too.

heres my 780 ti score.... IMO, it SUCKS! this is fully OC on stock voltage and i just barley beat my score of my 780. on top of that, im having issues with it crashing A LOT especially with DSR. everything is crashing. I managed to get 1175 on the core at 1.187V (stock) i do however think that this card is going to get an RMA due to crashing...

yea of course. and it crashes non stop in all but 1 game. im exchanging it anyway. hopefully the next one wont have issues.
