Correct me if I'm wrong but the 280x is just a rebranded 7 series so the drivers are already upto date? I know there are slight changes in the revamp but technically it's only the 290x that has changed and Mantle won't be implemented untill December.

Noober, can you run it on the Extreme preset so it looks the same as my screenshot. I understand the 280X is essentially just a 7970, so I would be interested to see how the 2 compare.

Hahah no the drivers do suck. Skyrim is unplayable. And I have a stutter in all games. Some games also just have poor fps. I'll rerun the extreme tho...

Thanks for running it noober, so it looks like they score pretty much the same as the 7970 which is what I was expecting.

That stutter freeze you refer too N00ber is the price you pay when getting new hardware my cards did micro stutter for a while till they updated the drivers sit back and watch it shine in a few weeks

y a I know. I knew that going into buying it. but in a few weeks with the new bios I flashed and updated drivers, its going to be a killer card!

There is no doubt the R9 280X is a great card for the money, the 7970 was an awesome card, the R9 280X is pretty much the same but for a few extra features and is cheaper than the 7970. A win win situation really.
