Man, some windows people are so angry at Mac =)

I'd never change BACK to a windows computer, my Mac isn't that expensive, if you know where to buy stuff from.
The equiv. Windows PC would be more expensive I'd bet (unless building yourself), and the features, benefits, stability, ease of use, and the support of Mac outway even Windows 7.

Only thing I use Windows for, is to develop Windows applications, and for gaming =)

(Ponders, if he can get in trouble for saying this on the windows forums :D)

As far as expense goes, if you have your old builds around, and can use old hard drives, memory, keybord mouse, graphics card, and case, my last I-7 build was under $500, not bad for a 4 GHZ 8 core build. Microcenter had 920D0 chips for $199.99 and you can find X58 motherboards for $200, another $100 for a good cooler, My score on my new build is only 5.9 because of hard drive, but I'm still impresed with it Try to find a MAC that can do what this can do for $500

260 920 D0.PNG

If I add a ssd to this build I think I can match the score on my 965 build

Unfortunately, unless your tech guru, most people can't build their own computer, despite how easy it is, they either don't have time, think it's too hard, or can't be bothered.

$500 to upgrade it, but what was the cost of your previous build,
I highly doubt it you got it for free.

Still a very cheap for an 8-core i7 though, you won't find a Mac for that,
but if you work all day, based on the time it will take you to: learn how to build a computer, order the parts, put the parts in, fix any problems you will likely encounter if your learning, then it's a bit more than $500.

I can upgrade my Mac Pro easily, graphics card, (although only a few to choose from unfortunately), HDD's, RAM, if you get them from the right place it's incredibly cheap.

Mac & Windows each have their own benefits, IMO windows for games, and Mac for everything else, particularly work.

ive never understood y mac has to have its own line of hardware, is it a driver thing or hard related?they would b better off being universal. Imagine the sales increase.

There may be more behind it than this, but because it's all made by apple, it is all compatible with each other, you'll never have hardware problems with Mac, well, at least I haven't.

I do KNOW graphics cards (for pcs) have to be flashed, to be compatible with Mac, and that means they're unstable and can stop working at any moment, so I prefer to stick with apple qualified graphics cards, and the apple ram has something different about it that makes it stay cooler, so the fan is pretty much non-existant, if you were to put normal ram into a mac (that didn't wasn't apple qualified ram), it would overheat, I'm not sure about any other hardware.

Sales might not increase in the regard, that Mac users like the stability, knowing everything, including the OS, is built by Apple.

Post this on the Vista forums. This forum is specifically for Windows 7.

But while you're here, you could have a look at the Microsoft Website and email their support if you're that concerned with it.
